| Those Evil English |
On Saturday, I linked to a WorldNetDaily.com article that began,
In a move that has outraged parents, the UK yesterday unveiled a plan to place nurses in every school in England with the authority to help students arrange for pregnancy tests, morning-after pills and abortions – without alerting their parents – in order to improve "sexual health."
Yes, I suppose those parents are outraged. They ought to be. However, don’t they have an elected government? Doesn’t the depravity of their government simply represent their own depravity? Of course it does. But then we Americans have long been aware that Europe and Great Britain are on a greased slide into Hell while we look on in horror.
Yet, there is something that troubles me far more than that. It is the fact that I need to point at their folly in order to feel slightly better about my own country.

I'm not entirely sure how this is news, to be honest. A good while ago a Christian friend of mine was going to train to be a school nurse until she discovered what she'd have to be legally party to. When I was little, the school nurse checked your head for nits.
Of course, there is one really, really obvious answer - don't put your kids in state education in the first place

Did she find any?
Libbie, I agree with your answer, but that really only solves the problem for our own families. The solution for everyone, I think you'll agree, is preach the Gospel and make disciples.

I think Europe is way, way ahead of England (on the slope) though. Don't you?
And I don't consider Blair evil, though maybe Matthew would.

Yes, HK, Europe is definitely "ahead" of England. I guess the English can use that to boost their self-esteem (self-righteousness), just like we can. Unfortunately for us, God isn't making that same comparison, is he?

see, now I'm depressed. darkness everywhere - europe, america, england, ireland, scotland, wales, inside, outside, monkey's tails.. sorry, mind wandered off on a tangent there.
yes my country is in one sorry state. And so is europe. and so is the US. It's called a fallen world for a jolly good reason.
Oh, today, I am so aware of how much I want Him to return.
