Fred Thompson for President

fredthompson2.jpgThis post is not a joke. Fred Thompson holds the rare position of being both one of my favorite actors and a politician who I would have voted for, had I lived in Tennessee. As a Senator from Tennesse, he consistently voted right in nearly every case. So this story comes as a pleasant surprise. It's too early to say whether or not he can win, but if he runs, he will be the first Republican candidate in the race that I can endorse without crossing my fingers and plugging my nose. He looks very Presidential, don't you think?

“After two years in Washington, I often long for the realism and sincerity of Hollywood.” – Fred Thompson, in a speech before the Commonwealth Club of California

I DO hope he runs! I've been wondering what in the world we were going to do when the election rolled 'round... Sure does look like slim pickin's so far.

My sons just watched Red October again a few days ago.

So am I!

I don't know what the man is like personally, but if he is anything like the characters he has played (and many say he is), I would love to see him handle a White House press conference.

No Mike Huckabee?

I, too, would count it a privilege to vote for Thompson, but I'm wondering what your hang-up is with Mr. Huckabee ... other than he doesn't have a chance!

Mike who?

He never even crossed my mind when I wrote this. I have nothing against him that I'm aware of.
