| Lord’s Day 1, 2008 |
I reioyced, when they sayd to me, We wil go into the house of the Lord. (Psalme 122:1 Geneva Bible)
HYMN 15. (L. M.)
Our own weakness, and Christ our strength. 2 Cor. xii. 7, 9, 10.
by Isaac Watts (1674-1748)
et me but hear my Savior say,
“Strength shall be equal to thy day,”
Then I rejoice in deep distress,
Leaning on all-sufficient grace.
I glory in infirmity,
That Christ’s own power may rest on me:
When I am weak, then am I strong,
Grace is my shield, and Christ my song.
I can do all things, or can bear
All suff’rings, if my Lord be there;
Sweet pleasures mingle with the pains,
While his left hand my head sustains.
But if the Lord be once withdrawn,
And we attempt the work alone,
When new temptations spring and rise,
We find how great our weakness is.
[So Samson, when his hair was lost,
Met the Philistines to his cost;
Shook his vain limbs with sad surprise,
Made feeble fight, and lost his eyes.]

Geneva Bible
A song of degrees or Psalme of David.
1 Behold, howe good and howe comely a thing it is, brethren to dwell euen together.
2 It is like to the precious oyntment vpon the head, that runneth downe vpon the beard, euen vnto Aarons beard, which went downe on the border of his garments:
3 And as the dew of Hermon, which falleth vpon the mountaines of Zion: for there the Lord appointed the blessing and life for euer.
Grace be with you, and Peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm confused...why 53 and not 1?
David
Um . . . just seeing if anyone was paying attention.

Well now I have to go change the title of my link to you. See what trouble you've caused! :)

But then you did give me my chuckle of the day yesterday, so maybe the trade-off was worth it.

Everybody laughs at me when I'm not trying to be funny.
