Lord’s Day 26, 2019

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. —Ephesians 2:4–7

Hymn 40. (C. M.)
Our comfort in the covenant made with Christ.

Our God! how firm his promise stands,
E’en when he hides his face;
He trusts in our Redeemer’s hands
His glory and his grace.

Then why, my soul, these sad complaints,
Since Christ and we are one?
Thy God is faithful to his saints,
Is faithful to his Son.

Beneath his smiles my heart has liv’d,
And part of heav’n possess’d;
I praise his name for grace receiv’d,
And trust him for the rest.

The Psalms & Hymns of Isaac Watts. Hymns and Spiritual Songs. Book II: Composed on Divine Subjects (Soli Deo Gloria, 1997).

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please don’t miss worshiping with your local congregation
if you can possibly help it.
But if you’re in need of a good sermon,
try these.
